• Every piercing heals at its own pace — but with the right care and consistency, healing should follow the expected timeline.

If you’ve been advised to return for downsizing (such as for a lip or cartilage piercing), please reach out at the time discussed so I can safely adjust your jewellery.

You can also support your body’s healing with a short course of zinc or arnica supplements during the first month.

🧠 These tips are general and may vary depending on the type of piercing and your body.
If anything feels unusual or you're unsure about something — don’t hesitate to contact me. I’m here to help.

    🧼 Daily Cleaning Instructions

    1. Soften any crusts around the piercing by soaking the area with warm, clean water (a shower is ideal).

    2. Apply a small amount of hypoallergenic, fragrance-free soap or body wash using clean hands or a cotton pad.

    3. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

💧 Repeat this step twice a day during the full healing period.

    💦 Saline Soaks

    • Spray or apply a small amount of sterile saline solution (or mild sea salt solution) around the piercing and jewellery.

    • Let it soak gently to cleanse the area.

    • Pat dry with a clean cotton pad or towel — do not air dry.

🕐 This step can be discontinued after four weeks, unless advised otherwise.

    🚫 Do Not:

    • Touch or rotate the jewellery unnecessarily

    • Pick at crust or scabs

    • Sleep on fresh piercings

    • Use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or perfumed products on the area

  • An oral piercing is any piercing where all or part of the jewellery is located inside the mouth — such as tongue, smiley, or lip piercings.

The instructions below are for caring for the inside of the mouth.
For the external part (if applicable), please follow the general aftercare guidance above.

✅ How to Clean the Inside of an Oral Piercing

    • Use an alcohol-free antibacterial mouthwash.

    • Follow the instructions on the product, and avoid using over-the-counter mouthwashes that contain alcohol or strong chemicals.

🕗 Rinse twice a day only — once in the morning and once before bed.
Cleaning too often can strip the mouth of its natural healing peptides (the tongue naturally produces a thin protective layer that supports healing).

    💧 After Meals & Drinks

    • After eating or drinking anything (except water), rinse your mouth with sterile saline solution or a mild homemade sea salt solution:

      • 1/4 teaspoon of non-iodized sea salt

      • Mixed with 250ml of warm distilled water

This helps flush out any debris and reduce irritation.

    ❌ Important to Avoid

    • Touching or playing with the jewellery

    • Smoking, alcohol, spicy food, and kissing during the first weeks

    • Using any product not recommended by your piercer
